Responsible gambling
Gambling is paid entertainment, not a way to make money. If it is putting pressure on you, free and confidential help exists.
Signs that play is getting out of hand
- You play to win back earlier losses.
- You stake money meant for bills or rent.
- You hide how much you play from people close to you.
- You borrow to play.
- You feel irritable when you try to stop.
Limits that work
- Set a monthly amount before opening an account and do not change it after a loss.
- Set a time limit per session.
- Do not play when tired, upset or after drinking.
- Use the operator's deposit limit and self-exclusion tools.
A licensed operator's tools
HGC-licensed operators such as NetBet must offer deposit, time and loss limits and self-exclusion, and do not accept players under 21. The tools are in the account settings and on the operator's responsible gaming page. Set your limits before the first deposit.
What NetBet offers
NetBet's Help Centre has a Responsible Gaming section with a self-assessment test and the responsible gaming policy. The test is a quick way to see whether your play has changed character. If the result worries you, helpline 1114 is free and confidential.
